Considering the dynamic characters involved at such a significant moment in history, this movie had great potential. It offers a snapshot in time - one night in Miami. But it doesn't really deliver anything more than what you might read on a wikipedia page about that night. I could believe that this story worked much better as a stage play before it was adapted for the screen. Even given that, the actors in the movie version weren't given much of a script to work with. Aside from historical context, there was no story and the dialogue felt weak. The interplay between these characters seemed thin and unbelievable. I think we were just supposed to be in awe of these historic figures despite the lack of a story, action, or character arc. I really wanted to like this movie but it was so boring that I couldn't wait for it to be over. This movie got some serious hype that it did not deserve. I thought Leslie Odom Jr did great though. All of the other characters were unlikeable and annoying to watch.
