Ford, and their Dealer Partners profit from the sale of vehicles. Mechanics, or Automotive Technicians do not. When Ford's warranty costs skyrocket due to poor designs, and poor build quality, the first change they make is to decrease the labor times paid to the dealer. They do not alter the pay rate, but specifically the time. This reduces the burden for Ford and their dealer partners, while directly taking money away from the average mechanics who have to perform the work. 

In 2017, Ford enacted policy changes that reduced labor times, across the board, by roughly 40%. As most technicians are paid on a system called flat rate, a by the job method, as opposed to hourly, this translates directly as a 40% loss of wage. So technicians such as myself, and thus, my family, suffer from loss of income, while Ford Motor Company themselves profited Billions from these changes, and paid their employees large bonuses. 

This type of policy needs to change, and quickly. Having properly trained, qualified, and paid technicians is important to YOUR safety. It ensures the technicians repairing your vehicle have the skills, tooling, and experience to properly repair your vehicle, to prevent injury to you and your families. There has been a tremendous loss of technicians already, experience that will never be able to be replaced. Do not allow Ford to continue stealing our money, and putting you at risk, to line their own pockets!
