Astro’s Playroom Update Includes Hidden Bots That Can Be Transferred to Astro Bot

A new Astro’s Playroom update is out, bringing with it another hidden bot into the game that will be transferrable into the upcoming Astro Bot.

In a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Team Asobi studio head Nicolas Doucet details the newest update, which references the upcoming Astro Bot. In Astro Bot, players will have to go around and rescue bot crews that have been scattered across the galaxies, many of which are based on iconic PlayStation characters.

What’s in the new Astro’s Playroom update?

In celebration of that, Astro’s Playroom will be updated four times ahead of Astro Bot’s release. Upon finding them, players can then take them into Astro Bot and use them as part of your starting crew.

Last month, an update added a bot modeled after Lady Maria from the Bloodborne DLC, and this month, a bot modeled after Selene from Returnal has been hidden somewhere in the game. After freeing the characters, the bots will wait in the in-game Mission Room, where they can then be transferred to Astro Bot when the game releases in September.

Team Asobi also promised two more updates to Astro’s Playroom, set for August and September, that will include two more hidden bots. While keeping them vague, silhouettes for the figures seem to hint that the bots will be modeled after game franchises Gran Turismo and Ape Escape.

Astro Bot is set to release on September 6, 2024, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
