I covered these cans with air drying clay. Before I colored the clay with food color (nothing else was at home). After drying, I embellished them with gold foil (metal, not real gold:-)). Finish was a matt clear coat.

Today is a blue day at Color my World Daily and the theme at looking close on Friday is Food Peels. Luckily for us, my husband has an addiction to grapefruits ! And of course, we all know that grapefruits have some great skin to peel. So here we go, a grapefruit peel. And what is even more awesome, is the fact that grapefruit peels are looking so cool levitating on blue background.

Found these cannoli desserts usually associated with Italian cuisine inside of a Dutch bakery.. they probably just have a different name for them which I can't rhyme. So I'll leave it as Holy-cannoli!

Growing up with a mother that loved to play with language, I often find myself creating puns or saying things that make me laugh. I don't really need an audience, although I'm always pleased when someone catches my intended humor. When preparing a salad one day, I felt compelled to grab my camera. The swirls of the leaves was more than I could stand...I just had to shoot my food.
Don't see Mother raccoon out during the day often; only when she needs food so she can return to the babies and be able to feed them. When the young ones were old enough to venture out, I saw she had been caring for 4 babies. No wonder she looked so ragged!

The salted eel is a traditional food for the Chinese New Year in and around Shanghai.
While out for a walk in Saville Gardens, we came across this old van that's been converted into a refreshment stand.
