A very beautiful little bird, for a waterbird. Most of the time hiding between the green and the only thing you hear is their sound. So you need to be patient or you need to go to the Bogarin trail in La Fortuna. Have a great weekend my dear friends!

More stairs in the Newport Street Gallery. I've actually done very little to this, I quite like the washed out look.

I've spoken about C23 C24 before and I will get to explaining the phenomena that is going on as soon as I put some photos together that demonstrate it properly.

For about a 60 minute period there are birds of every type, shape, size, color that you might think you'd encounter by the hundreds at any moment (and some you wouldn't think you'd encounter).

Anyway when this one appeared it was one of a hundred I could have photographed at that moment. I didn't pay it any special mind until i processed the photo. It is a white form of something - but what??

Well here is the consensus -

Juvenile Little Blue Herons are white, similar to the egrets.

Herons in late summer/autumn provide challenges to birders, as adults are in nonbreeding plumage and juveniles abound. The reference to late summer may not be accurate for more southernly Florida -

Since writing the above, i noticed in processing that i had photographed, on the same and on other days, similar looking birds - there is one in the comments below

What i also noticed is that i had a photo of a caracara in flight - i almost never see one, so have a photo of one in flight was stunning (to me anyway) - this photo isn't so good, so i've posted it here in the comments below - now that i know that at least one is out there, i will be looking for it

.

This image is from the last winter season :-)Unfortunately this season i don't saw the magic white :-(( Hope you like it !

Enjoy your time !!

Many thx for visit me !

The White Tower is the landmark monument of Thessaloniki. It was built in the 15th century AD, after the conquest of Thessaloniki by the Ottomans in 1430. Known as a prison and a place of terrible torments and executions of convicts (a.k.a. the Blood Tower), became the symbol of Thessaloniki, since it remained standing alone on the seafront since 1911, after the demolition of the walls surrounding it and its enclosure.

It is about 34 m high and has a diameter of 22 m. It consists of a ground floor and six upper floors. The roof offers an excellent view of the city and Mount Olympus. The inner helical staircase is made of ninety-two steps. Forty windows allow daylight to illuminate the interior of the tower.

Today the White Tower houses the new permanent exhibition concerning Thessaloniki from the time of its foundation in 316/15 BC until the present day. The exhibition presents in a concise way aspects of the history of the city, which is distinguished by its centuries-long, unbroken historical presence. The exhibition is organized thematically. Each floor presents a theme that develops over time.

There were three white pelicans enjoying the Koll wetlands the last few days. Yesterday, I shot from the east shore, and today, I went to the west side, to get the backlight. It sure paid off, with this great view of the water, and even the fish, clearly silhouetted in the pouch!
