Mango is better than ever right now. Take it from someone who has spent at least one lunch break every week for the past – let’s say, six years – in the Mango dressing rooms. Earlier this spring, Mango celebrated the worldwide launch of its most eagerly-awaited collaboration to date (Mango X Victoria Beckham, ICYMI), which coincided with Mango's own 40th anniversary celebrations and took inspiration from the film La Piscine (1969) starring Jane Birkin. Then, Katie Holmes was spotted wearing a Mango Selection tan suede jacket when out in New York, which caused it to sell out in a matter of moments.
The Spanish fashion brand followed-up with a Zendaya-charged tenniscore collection – bursting with Wimbledon-appropriate tennis skirts, tote bags and baseball caps – before Emily Ratajkowski wore a Mango Selection summer dress out in New York and sent the fashion set into a frenzy.
Most recently? Mango has dropped a sell-out collaboration with Siedrés, the Turkish brand of the moment, which is a joyful, colourful and fresh celebration of the arrival of summer in the Mediterranean. I tried on a few pieces below and fell head over heels in love. So, you get the picture: Mango is hot topic.
It seemed timely, then, to make a beeline for the brand's flagship Regent Street and try on the crème de la crème – just so you don't have to. The colour red was a common thread throughout multiple collections, following on from its 2023 A/W boom (thanks, Stella McCartney, The Row and Prada) – while metallics were spotted splashed across beach dresses, bottoms and summer tops – as per Miu Miu and Rabanne's SS24 collections. The bubble skirt surprisingly won me over – something to do with Kylie Jenner cosigning the return of the Y2K classic last week, perhaps – and I found myself eating my words, having sworn to never be seen in a pair of “jorts."

1. The Siedrés x Mango Crop
First up, the knitted tank top from the Siedrés x Mango collection that I've had my eye on since it first launched on site. Finished the a cool, Siedrés logo to the back, I paired it with some flattering, high-waisted red linen trousers. That said, you could totally opt for white jeans or blue denim shorts if you don't want to be so ~bold~. In my dream world, I'd finish this outfit with the natural fibre shopper bag in the same striped print – but it was out of stock in the store I visited.
2. The Gingham Top
I had spotted this cute gingham top online a few weeks back, so it was on my “to try on” list before I even entered the store. It's pretty bold, granted, but a cute summer top to thrown on with jeans (or denim shorts) and a pair of flip flops. You'll spot when you keep scrolling: bright gingham tops are Mango's jam right now.
3. The Jorts
Case in point: this orange, boat neck gingham top which is equally cute for summer. I love a boat neck – I always find them to be so flattering and love them layered with gold jewellery – and the cropped cut made the piece super appropriate for brunches or drinks in the park.
As for the white “jorts”? Even after they appeared on the catwalks of Valentino (SS24) and Dries Van Noten (AW24) swore I'd never be converted, but actually, I really quite liked this white pair. They were pleasingly high-waisted, and when balanced out with a “small top” (it's all about balance when it comes to styling jorts) I think they kind of worked.
4. The Crochet Jumper
Next up, I kept my jorts on (see, a total convert) but layered up a white tank top with this sunset-hued crochet jumper. Designer and high street collections are packed full of crochet pieces – from dresses to tops and jumpers – that prove just how much we love the trend, and I've been after something like this to throw over a bikini during my upcoming holiday to Provence.
5. The Bubble Dress
The bubble hem was popularised back in the 1980s, before experiencing something of a resurgence in the mid 2000s thanks to the likes of “it” girls Paris Hilton and Mischa Barton. TBH, I never thought they'd see the light of day again, but nearly twenty years later – charged by our adoration for all things Y2K – the cloud-like silhouette has been cropping up all over runways. Even Kylie Jenner have the bubble skirt her seal of approval on her recent holiday.
This dress has just landed in the Mango sale, and as expected, I loved it. The skirt isn't too bubble-like – it feels pretty wearable – and the jersey top was elasticated and comfortable.
6. The Red Linen Trousers
There's only one fabric I've found to make hot weather dressing enjoyable, and that's linen. I've spent the past three years building up my linen collection, and (even if I do say so myself), it's now a force to be reckoned with. That said, red linen trousers (or a dress, or shirt, for that matter) were something my collection has been missing.
Available with a matching shirt and blazer, these high-waisted red linen trousers were perhaps my favourite piece I tried on all day. Definitely suited to the office as a co-ord, or with a white linen shirt, they're also great for teaming with a crochet crop top on holiday, thanks to how floaty and lightweight they are. At the time of writing, they'd gone out of stock online, but sign up to email notifications and you might be in luck.
7. The Metallic Beach Dress
Hang on, may be this was my favourite piece of the day. Just because it's not party season, it doesn't mean metallics are a no-go – at least where Miu Miu, Mango and Rabanne are concerned. Metallics serve you well for every month of the year, and silver and gold are one of the hottest colour trends of this summer. This dress had been styled atop a royal blue swimsuit in the store, which I actually preferred to my striped swimsuit choice. They just didn't have it in my size.
8. The Striped Trousers & Pink Blazer
A bit bold; a bit out there – but how good are these semi-transparent beach trousers? They come with ivory hot pants which you wear underneath to cover your modesty (welcome!) and have a drawstring waist to help tailor them to your shape. I paired them with a pink linen blazer and zip-up poplin top, but you could totally keep them reserved for poolside.
9. The Striped Co-Ord
Dressing yourself during warm conditions is no easy feat, but the ‘it’ girls of Instagram have found somewhat of a hack: two piece sets and co-ords. I've been copying them, and living in them, since the weather warmed up – and I'm so excited to add this striped, lace-adorned number to my collection. Oh-so-effortless and very easy to throw on, I'll be wearing each of these pieces together and on their own this summer – the trousers with a white tank top and the shirt with my white denim Bermuda shorts.
10. The Barbie Moment
Barbiecore is not over yet, according to Mango's new-in collection. I styled this cute knitted cropped tank with another pair of jorts, this time in a light wash denim. I preferred the cut of the white pair pictured above – a little baggier suited me better – but these Bermuda shorts were still a winner.
