Metro here tries to preserve the claim that he converted to Christianity and did not return to Islam, stating, absolutely without evidence, that Arab Christians also scream “Allahu akbar,” but that is arrant nonsense designed to whitewash another jihad attack. I was in daily contact with Christian Arabs for nearly 20 years and never once heard one say “Allahu akbar” except when mocking jihadis. In fact, they recoiled at the phrase, having been victims of jihadis themselves.
And even if Metro is telling the truth and there are some Christians somewhere who run around screaming “Allahu akbar,” there is no record, none, of any Christian anywhere committing a terror attack in the name of Christianity while screaming “Allahu akbar.” There is abundant record, however, of Muslims committing jihad terror attacks while screaming “Allahu akbar.”
Maybe Saadallah converted to Christianity and then returned to Islam, turning to jihad to make up for his sin of apostasy. Another possibility: in January 2016, the Islamic State (ISIS) issued a manual entitled “Safety and Security Guidelines for Lone Wolf Mujahideen.” It told jihadis in the West to pretend to be Christians, and stated: “It is permissible for you to wear a necklace showing a Christian cross. As you know, Christians – or even atheist Westerners with Christian background – wear crosses on their necklaces.” According to a hadith, Muhammad said, “War is deceit.” (Bukhari 4.52.268).
“Reading attack suspect shouted ‘Allahu Akhbar’ as he chased victims, court hears,” by Sam Courtney-Guy, Metro, June 29, 2020:
The attack in a park in Reading’s town centre was declared a terrorist incident by police, although no motive has been disclosed
The suspect in the Reading stabbing attack shouted ‘Allahu Akhbar’ as he stabbed six people, a court heard today.
Khairi Saadallah, 25, is accused of killing James Furlong, 36, David Wails, 49 and Joe Ritchie-Bennett, 39, as they enjoyed a socially-distanced drink in a park on June 20.
Witnesses heard him shout the phrase, meaning ‘God is greatest’ as he attacked the men and chased their friends as well as another group of people sitting nearby, according to prosecutors.
He was said to have used a knife bought from a local supermarket the day before.
Saadallah, who came to the UK from Libya in 2012 as a refugee, is believed to have converted to Christianity at some point after his arrival and spent time volunteering at a church.
Reports previously suggested he showed no strong religious leanings towards his friends but suffered from mental health problems.
His sister told the Daily Mail his conversion was motivated by a wish to ‘marry a British girl’ and caused a rift with his family.
A friend told The Times he had expressed no such wishes and converted because ‘he wanted to change his life and get away from the life he was forced to live in his home country’.
While the phrase ‘Allahu Akhbar’ is a staple of practising Muslims globally, it can also be used by some Arab Christians….
Really? Evidence, please.
elee says
This is called muruna. It has a distinct place in the taxonomy of scripturally-sanctioned lies ordained for Muslims. Think of “passing,” but this is done for purposes far from innocent……as this instance demonstrates.
Ray Jarman says
“‘Allahu Akhbar’ is a staple of practising Muslims globally, it can also be used by some Arab Christians….” I notice that the rag sheet employed the verb “can” rather than “is.” I can think a lot of things that can be but that does not mean that it is such as Islam is a religion of peace. It could be but the Qur’an would have to be amended and that would violate Islam and would make it not Islam.

Right, Ray–we have heard from many Arab Christians–while they do indeed use “Allah” for God, they do not scream “Allahu Akbar!”.

correction Robert ! Ethnically speaking , Christians of the Middle East And I am a Canadian Christian guy originally from Iraq and the only Arab Christians would be Arab Muslims who converted from Islam to Christianity
gravenimage says
There are some Arab Christians, Lion heart–the original Christians of Arabia were mostly Arab. But you are right–many Christians in the region, such as the Copts, are not ethnically Arab.

Michael Copeland says
There is an average of five jihad attacks PER DAY over the world, not all with so many victims as this.
“Islam is a religion of blood for the infidels”, said Ayatollah Khomeini. The category “infidels” includes muslims who are not muslim enough.
gravenimage says
Horrifying, Martin–and the victims include little children and old people.
God, I have Islam.
James Lincoln says
Beyond horrific, Martin.
And to think that I was probably having a cup of coffee with a cheese Danish while this was happening…

I’ll say it again; my naivety of how much censorship is forced upon us and how truths are twisted and the left are untouchable, leads me to thank robert Spencer & guys like uz on the comments. Grateful to be able to gain an understanding of how much we are liked to and how much is swept under the carpet in the name of Islamophobia. Makes me sick what our UK has become. I hope this muslim jihadi parasite is burning in hell
Michael Copeland says
He is in custody awaiting trial (many months away, with expensive lawyers paid for by UK taxpayers).
It has already been stated (or claimed) that he has “mental issues”.
Westman says
Could this be: Muslim boy meets Christian girl. Boy wants girl for girlfriend. Girl’s relatives don’t want Muslim boyfriend for girl. Boy becomes (false) Christian and treats girl(as inferior) like a Muslim woman. Girl breaks off relationship. Boy is angry, wants revenge on infidels for the rage he feels for being rejected, a (false victim) rage he caused himself.
Michael Copeland says
Usually the revenge is taken on the girl herself, such as by beheading or multiple stabbing.
Michael Copeland says
To be accurate, it is not revenge: it is assuaging a damaged honour, that is, muslim male self esteem and supremacy.

The only person who said that this Jihadist is a Christian is some cousin back in Dar-al-Islam who hadn’t seen him for years. I think this claim is more Taqiyya than anything.
mortimer says
Khairi Saadallah (whose names are Islamic) was certainly conducting jihad. Only God knows if his feelings about Christianity were sincere at the time, but it seems they were not. He wanted to marry a British girl and get instant status on the fast-track to citizenship. But no girl wanted him, so he took revenge when it was time to be sent back.
Strange, isn’t it, how many Muslims hate living in a Muslim country, but when they get to the West, they want to destroy for not being perfect or for not giving the residency-seeker everything he wants on a silver platter.
ManchesterLad says
It’s funny how the media have only mentioned in passing – no more than once or twice I’ve heard – that the three victims killed were all gay. This may have been known to the attacker and influenced his choice of victim, who knows.
Of course, had the attacker been a white male, this would be condemned for weeks in the media as a ‘homophobic’ attack. When a Muslim kills gays, it’s clearly not relevant.
gravenimage says
Exactly, ManchesterLad.

UK: Migrant who supposedly converted to Christianity and murdered three was screaming “Allahu akbar” during attack
…………….
Ah, yes–because Christians always scream “Allahu Akbar!” while stabbing people to death…sarc/off
Lion heart says
Aa a Canadian Christian guy originally from Iraq, I wanna say that ethnically speaking, Christians of the Middle East are NOT Arab ! and the only Arab Christians are those who were Arab Muslims and converted to Christianity
gravenimage says
Lion heart, there were Christians in Saudi Arabia during the “Prophet” Muhammed’s time who were likely ethnically Arab–some of whom fled rather than convert to Islam.
But you are certainly correct that many Christians in the region, such as the Copts, are not Arab.
