Our CEO Steve Colón weighed in on yesterday’s announcement from the Department of Education that this year’s FAFSA will be released on December 1st. “If we have to make a trade off and we have to push back Oct. 1 to get a fully functioning system, that’s a trade we’re willing to make. What we really need is clarity and transparency around timing so we can make a plan.” For Bottom Line, and as a member of the National College Attainment Network (NCAN) students being able to access a reliable system is most important. About us
Students are at the core of Bottom Line. Every day, we are energized by their drive, potential, and passion. We know that the success of our students will create a ripple effect in our communities. Bottom Line is bridging the divide of educational inequity by providing a trusted advisor and the social capital necessary for our students to earn their bachelor’s degree, build financial stability, and successfully launch thriving careers. We primarily focus on students of color who will be in the first generation of their family to earn a college degree, are from low-income backgrounds, and are academically prepared for college. For more than two decades, Bottom Line has been fighting for educational equity by ensuring that the right to a quality college education is accessible to those whose potential and drive exceed their opportunity. For first-generation degree-aspiring students from low-income backgrounds who face systemic barriers, Bottom Line’s advisors are a relentless ally who partner with them to find the right college, persist to a degree, and successfully launch a career. As one of the first college support organizations to focus on college completion, Bottom Line now produces best-in-class college graduation rates that reduce the significant gap between first-generation students from low-income backgrounds and their wealthier peers. We operate regional programs in Massachusetts, New York City, and Chicago that collectively serve over 7,000 students.

College students nationwide are making critical decisions about their education for the upcoming semester, with financial aid being a major factor! As we continue our participation in National College Attainment Network (NCAN)'s #DoTheFAFSA campaign, we want to emphasize the importance of FAFSA completion for our current college students. Completing the FAFSA is essential for securing financial aid needed to continue their education. Despite recent glitches and delays, we remain committed to ensuring our students secure the financial aid necessary for their education. The updated FAFSA application is not just simpler; it’s designed to help more students pay for college. 💲 🎓 If you’re a Bottom Line student, reach out to your Advisor ASAP for assistance. #FAFSA #DoTheFAFSA #FinancialAid #CollegeAccess

The first of many! Bottom Line Ohio proudly hosted our inaugural Welcome Event for our new College Access Program. We are excited to partner with our first cohort of students on their journey to college! 🎓
Our very first Welcome Event for the Bottom Line College Access Program was a hit! We welcomed our first class of students and their families and had an incredible turnout on a Saturday morning. These high school seniors will work with their advisor, starting this fall, to work towards graduation and towards their college careers. Alexandria Burns did an incredible job on the event and James worked directly to answer questions for families. Joseph Castro was an absolute delight to work with and flew in from Chicago to help. Photos are by Knack Video + Photo, some of the headshots by Briana Snyder and the fun photobooth from Liftoff Entertainment, all at the great event at Sinclair Community College! #highschool #college #access #event #students #families #school

Now, if only I had the foresight to squeeze in a trip to Disneyland between sessions...
