“Care benefits” are so much more than child care: “A Care Specialist helped me care for my aging grandfather, On Demand Tutoring gave my daughter extra support, and I even found a same-day house cleaner. As every working parent knows, breaks in child care can be stressful, but I don’t sweat teacher in service days or gaps in care during the summer because I know I have access to Backup Care” — Rebecca Hunter, Director of Government Account Management Working parents are under enough stress, and we’re determined to relieve some of it. At Care, we’re moms, dads, daughters, sons, caregivers, and pet parents, which is why the work we do is so important to us. It’s also why we know first-hand just how tough it can be to juggle family and career responsibilities. We asked the working parents of Care to share what really helps them, well, work. Working parents, what helps you feel supported at work?

"States could add billions to their economies annually by preventing childcare breakdowns." ⤵ ⤵ ⤵

A robust #childcare infrastructure is increasingly recognized as a cornerstone of America's economic vitality. Our recent National Child Care Innovation Summit brought together diverse perspectives to explore this critical connection and its far-reaching implications for businesses and communities alike. In a post-summit interview, Bryan Jamele of Care.com spoke with our Senior Director Aaron Merchen about the event's key outcomes. A standout insight: states could add billions to their economies annually by preventing childcare breakdowns. As U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo noted, the care economy is "work-enabling infrastructure," as crucial as roads and broadband. Businesses of all sizes can engage in innovative solutions to strengthen our childcare system and boost economic growth. This is what’s called a mic drop moment. Brian B., Director of Product Marketing, shared  the number one thing he did right as a new parent, and it’s a rallying cry for dads and organizations everywhere: “I took every single day of paternity leave I was entitled to with my two kids and have zero regrets. I also strongly believe that taking all your paternity time is not only something men should do for themselves, but we should also be doing it for women and mothers. Not only because we should be sharing the load of childcare, but we should also not have women be the only ones that can suffer potential career setbacks from taking the time out to care for children.” At Care, we’re moms, dads, daughters, sons, caregivers, and pet parents, which is why the work we do is so important to us. It’s also why we know first-hand just how tough it can be to juggle family and career responsibilities. We asked the working parents of Care to share what really helps them, well, work. We want to hear from you! Looking back, what’s the number one thing you feel you did right as a new parent? Please share in the comments.
