Given that 75% of nonprofit workers are women, it’s striking that only 42% of nonprofit boards are led by women, and this figure drops to 33% in larger nonprofits. DHR’s Sara Garlick Lundberg sheds light on how implicit biases, such as the preference for traditionally male-associated traits like "executive presence" and assumptions about women's family commitments, delay progress. While some progress is being made, Sara emphasizes that change is still too slow. Check out the full article to explore her insights on steps to accelerate gender equity in nonprofit leadership. https://lnkd.in/gHJMdHHn #nonprofit #womeninleadership #executivesearch

Geoff Hoffmann, DHR CEO, and his wife Megan Hoffmann recently hosted Type 1 Timer Hockey Camp for the third time. Type 1 Timer Hockey was established in 2022 in honor of their son Henry, who has Type 1 Diabetes. It aims to create a supportive and fun experience for youth hockey players and their families facing similar challenges. Geoff shared, “T1D is a relentless disease that poses challenges to those affected each and every day. Camp has created an environment for kids and their families to share their passion for hockey and to build friendships with others who are just like them.” Henry added, “It’s more than just great hockey or hanging out at the pool with your friends. It’s creating a sense of normalcy about what we all deal with every day—that’s why we created T1T.” For three days, nearly 80 young hockey players had the opportunity to train with the three-time Kelly Cup winning Florida Everblades Professional Hockey Club, NHL skills coach Kevin Delaney, and T1D athletes OHL goalie Michael Simpson and San Jose Sharks center Luke Kunin. Each evening, players and their families came together for activities, including a dinner cruise and poolside BBQ, providing more opportunities for community. With incredible support from Tandem Diabetes Care, players learn how to better manage their diabetes both on and off the ice through a partnership with a team of Certified Diabetes Educators, off-ice Education with T1D hockey goalie Michael Simpson, and more.
