Senior Communications & DEI Specialist ✨ | Let's talk innovation, authenticity, DEI, and empowering our communities to create a better world!
✨"Your Voice is Your Power" - I'm so thrilled to share that my first News Center article got published today!! 🤍 This story is especially close to my heart -- spotlighting the stories of three California youth leaders pioneering innovative mental health initiatives through DoSomething.org's EMBER Collective, and Blue Shield of California's #BlueSky Initiative. 🩵 My journey into #DEI and community engagement work began with my own mental health journey as a teenager, experiencing first hand the lack of culturally competent mental health resources, and the importance of destigmatizing mental health in our communities. I am forever inspired by the leaders of this #nextgeneration, and am thrilled to work at a company that consistently invests significant time and resources into supporting BlueSky’s youth #mentalhealth pillars — access, awareness and advocacy. Paula Ambrose (she/her) said it best, ""Anyone — regardless of age — can ignite progress and change the world." 🌎🌱 -- Thank you to our stellar youth leaders, Niku Sedarat, Prateek Sunder, and Sophie K! And to my incredible communications and citizenship team for creating these opportunities and supporting such phenomenal programs - Antoinette Mayer, Perry Chen, Maria Stokes, Laine Himmelmann, and Jamie Menaker! #DEI #youthmentalhealth #dosomething #communityengagement #destigmatizementalhealth #selfcare #mentalhealthawareness

On Monday, July 15th, Generation Citizen, DoSomething.org, and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts came together to invite civically minded, creative teens to an all-day program of workshops and collaboration. Centering arts, activism, community building, and art-making, this inspiring event brought together young poets like 2024 National Youth Poet Laureate @Stephanie Pacheco (Instagram: @thestephaniepacheco) and Shay the Poet (Instagram: @shay.thepoet), as well as other all-around creatives, to hold space for other young people who want to be more active participants in democracy and change. We look forward to more opportunities to allow young people to take center stage and allow their voices to be heard! More photos and videos to come from this extraordinary event! #youthempowerment #civics #civicengagement #election2024 #youthactivism
