Happy Cycle to Work Day! 🚲 ES teammates Laurie Catey and Marsha Rosso show us the joyful and impactful spirit of commuting to the office on two wheels! Need a little nudge to hop on your bike? Here are three reasons why cycling to work is a planetary win 🌍: 1. Pedaling instead of driving helps improve the quality of the air we breathe by slashing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. A typical passenger vehicle emits almost five metric tons of carbon dioxide a year from burning fuel! 2. By choosing the bike over the car, we're not just reducing traffic congestion; we're also cutting costs and minimizing toxic particles in the air. According to the UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies, even moderate increases in bicycle use annually could save a phenomenal 6 to 14 million tons of CO2! That's a victory ride, for sure! 3. Let's not overlook noise pollution—a threat to our health and wildlife. The quiet hum of bicycles is good for our human ears and a safeguard for animals' habits and survival. Unlike the disruptive roar of cars, which confuses our animal friends that rely on sound to thrive. 🦉🌿 So, let's pedal our way to cleaner air, less congestion, and a quieter, more harmonious world for all living things! 🌟 #CycleToWorkDay #SustainableCommute #PedalPower #Sustainable16

Energy Sciences was thrilled to sponsor the Michigan Municipal Executives Summer Workshop in the beautiful city of Marquette last week. We learned a lot about the issues facing local government executives and their teams. We examined the best ways to support and take care of each other first so we can build strong relationships within our communities. Also, I cannot think of a more charming and scenic place to hold this gathering—we explored the city and surrounding area and enjoyed the “Superior” hospitality. It was a pleasure to take in this slice of #PureMichigan. #energyefficicency #sustainability #strongcommunities #LakeSuperior

Our team had a fantastic time at the Make Food Not Waste Too Good to Waste annual benefit dinner last night at Sylvan Table! 🍽️🌱 Every delicious meal was curated using upcycled food from farms, grocery stores, and restaurants that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. Thank you for having us!
