Great news this Friday! Senate legislation to require VDPs for government contractors is pivotal to protecting the government's sensitive data and digital systems from cybercriminals. As the industry has long recognized, VDPs are essential to engaging with the ethical hacker community, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and allowing organizations to patch them quickly. Kudos to everyone who continues to drive the adoption of this best practice! https://bit.ly/3AfYswF
Thank you to U.S. Senator Mark Warner and Senator James Lankford for their leadership on cybersecurity. Today, the Senators announced their intent to introduce the bipartisan Federal Contractor Cybsersecurity Vulnerability Reduction Act of 2024, a bill to strengthen cybersecurity by ensuring all federal contractors have a Vulnerability Disclosure Policy. This bipartisan legislation addresses a critical gap in our nation’s cybersecurity protections by bringing the practices of federal contractors in line with those of the agencies they serve and with guidelines issued by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This proactive approach to security will ensure that businesses are actively protecting government systems, critical infrastructure, and sensitive data from exploitation by malicious actors. HackerOne applauds Senators Warner and Lankford for their leadership on this important issue.
