From Health-ISAC Biweekly Geopolitical Watchlist Update: https://lnkd.in/dkFN4Ctg The European Commission issued guidelines for 2024-2029 including a plan for cybersecurity in #hospitals. The need for this plan to be put in place was highlighted during the global IT outage that halted hospital operations. Independence is needed from reliance on third-party digital infrastructure. The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (EINSA) published an analysis of the cyber threat landscape for the health sector. It found that the EU had frequent cyber-attacks on the health sector with a majority affecting healthcare providers. A widespread number of hospitals within the #EU will need to begin to implement the guidelines to ensure that their organization does have a defense program.
