On July 10th, local officials, community members, and project partners gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Montebello Grade Separation Corridor project, marking a significant milestone for the city. This project, which includes roadway improvements, underpasses, and pedestrian and railroad bridges, aims to eliminate crossing collisions, reduce congestion, and lower vehicle emissions at the underpasses, while enhancing safety at key crossings. As the engineer of record, Moffatt & Nichol played a crucial role in developing the plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimate. We will continue to support the project throughout construction. Our team also provided essential staff augmentation to ensure effective project management and secure vital funding. We are excited to announce that the Exmouth seawall project is now complete, and the promenade is open to the public once again! In response to the failure of a section of the seawall in October 2023, the East Devon District Council engaged Moffatt & Nichol to investigate and design the replacement works. Our team provided site investigations, detailed design, site supervision, and regulatory liaison. We are proud to have played a part in restoring this vital community asset. #CreativePeoplePracticalSolutions #CoastalEngineering #SeawallRestoration
EXMOUTH SEAWALL TMS have worked tirelessly over the last few months to get Exmouth seafront back open as quickly as possible, and on Friday 28th June at 11.30pm this was finally achieved. The team were keen to ensure they had the path opened as soon as it was safe to do so, which meant staying late to get the fences open after the lines had been painted. Saturday morning saw the first mass use of the path with over 400 keen runners using it for their weekly Parkrun. This is an amazing achievement for TMS with the works following on from the emergency installation of concrete blocks and sand movement on the beach when the wall failed in Winter 2023. The works have been designed and installed in less than 9 months; a feat that would normally take way over a year for a project of this size. TMS had the help of a few great subcontractors to complete the works; AGD, Albion Drilling and iCivils. Thank you so much all. We look forward to working with you again. The success of the project and swift turnaround wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our Client (East Devon District Council), the local businesses and the local community. Thank you to all for your support and positive responses to the project! #marinecontractors #emergencyworks #concretework #Piling
