Wrapping up our intern celebration with a recap of our #NationalInternDay event hosted by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center We celebrated the talented interns' driving impact on their roles across various companies in New York City. High school and college interns all came together to network, share, and celebrate their accomplishments. The event also featured a panel with #CUNYalumni across healthcare, accounting, investment banking, and consulting industries to advise students on how to stand out in their internship, how to receive feedback candidly, and how to overcome challenges. The biggest lesson shared was that you have to start somewhere! Thank you to our panel –– Arlina Reyes, Joyce J., Arafath Radji, and Aileen W. for showing up for the next generation of interns.

Our #CUNYtalent are filled with determination and curiosity. A perfect example is Perla Dahan, a Cybersecurity student at John Jay College (CUNY) and an Information Technology Help Desk Intern at Warner Bros. Discovery. Perla has been spending her time at college immersing herself in various on-campus initiatives to help build rapport and skills needed to excel in her passion for cybersecurity and business. Building experience can start with your involvement on campus! While being a student, she is currently the President of John Jay’s Girls Who Code, the VP of John Jay Computer Science Society Club, and the founder of The CUNY CS Collective –– a new initiative for computer science students to connect with other computer science students across CUNY campuses. Her advice to #CUNYstudents is: “Just apply, even if you're nervous, not qualified enough, or think you won't get the job, just apply anyway. You'll never know if you never try.”

Continuing our celebration of interns, today we spotlight Naheen K. a Credit Risk Intern at Goldman Sachs in Dallas and Brooklyn College student! Interning at Goldman Sachs in Dallas has been an incredible experience for Naheen. It has helped him realize more about personal and professional aspirations.
