    “Outreach is old, this other thing is newer and sexier.” I’ve heard it plenty of times. I’m proud of Outreach’s history and a little competition is healthy – it keeps our teams working hard to create something reliable and innovative. But here is my advice for you all using this strategy. Novelty and messaging is not enough to make real market change. Positioning is not enough to survive. Being “new” or “new way of doing things” is not enough. The hardest thing to change is not technology - but human adoption, processes, and workflows. And the core product must be strong enough to carry beyond messaging. Outreach’s marketing is strong, because our core product is strong and complete to solve the whole problem. Not just part of it. No one likes to be told that the way they are doing things is old or stupid, even if there is a new way of doing things. A better approach is to let your prospects know that they made the right decision with what they knew at the time. And new technology has come along that can easily drive productivity without much change to what you are doing right now. And it cost nothing to try it. Others are! Lean on timeless human psychology and not on whatever is that you feel people should know about you. Get out of your own head and put yourself in your prospect’s shoes. That’s empathy. That’s selling.
