Coming in at both 2nd and 1st place are these two submissions from John Gajewski. Well done! Congratulations to Dick Perlmutter as well, who shares the winnings for 1st place. He is the one you see in the first image completing a CPM report. Both photos depict the interior and exterior rehabilitation and select demolition works-in-progress as part of an adaptive reuse scheme to convert an old mill into modern mixed-use apartments. Partner has been completing DCR and monthly CPMs, handled by Partner's Historic Architecture Solutions team. Congrats on this cool project and capturing the great work you do!

It's time once again to highlight the winners of Partner's quarterly photo contest! Starting at 3rd place, we have this amazing photo of the Partner logo submitted by Jaime R. Argueta, Sr from his vacation to Machu Picchu! One of the most remarkable aspects of Machu Picchu's architecture is the precision with which the stones were cut and fitted together. The Incas used a technique called ashlar masonry, which involved cutting and shaping individual stones to fit together perfectly without the use of mortar. Inca-redible!

Soils testing is a critical component of geotechnical engineering and a necessary step in completing any Geotechnical Report. The photo on the left shows a lab technician using a Liquid Limit Machine to measure the liquid limit of the soil. On the right, the technician is conducting a -200 wash using both a No. 10 sieve and a No. 200 sieve to determine the percent fines in the soil. The work is performed in a certified laboratory by a trained technician. The geotechnical engineers use the study results as part of their analysis and recommendations for any new structure, redevelopment, or major renovation.
