Director of Accounting

Our client is a very reputable real estate private equity firm with a portfolio of 150+ properties ($4B AUM). They have several active funds and are growing their portfolio of light industrial and grocery anchored retail properties via acquisitions and development. Due to recent/expected growth, they are looking to add a Director of Accounting/CFO to their Southern Florida office (Plantation/Ft. Lauderdale area).

This newly created Director of Accounting/CFO position will be the leader of our client's property management accounting company.

• Portfolio includes 150+ properties (20M sq.ft) in the east coast and Sunbelt states
• Oversee a terrific team of 18 property accountants and assist with team expansion
• Client has doubled in size in recent years and will continue to grow
• Limited travel
• Very attractive compensation package!
• Position based in Plantation/Ft. Lauderdale area
• open to a relocation

Ideal Candidate:

• 10+ years of accounting/financial experience (with a focus on property accounting)
• A proactive "player/coach" to lead the team
• Early experience in public accounting combined with recent experience with an owner/operator or property management company is ideal
• Experience with multiple asset classes (including industrial)
• Experience with acquisitions and developments
• Experience with Yardi, Kardin and other accounting software
• Entrepreneurial mindset, organized, personable
• Must enjoy leading a team!
• Bachelor's Degree is required; CPA preferred (okay if inactive)
