Job Description

Tranco Global is seeking a tenacious and highly motivated top-performer to join our team as a Director of Business Development. The successful candidate will drive new business growth through creating sales and new business opportunities as well as expanding our market share and continuously promoting and developing the Tranco brand, in line with our philosophy of delivering unparalleled supply chain excellence. The successful candidate must have a proven sales background, with a passion to sell across all levels within the organization including canvassing prospective customers and upselling to existing clients, across different channels such as via email and telephone, virtual (Teams/Zoom), face-to-face sales meetings and networking events. Job Responsibilities

  • Research, qualify, and solicit new business
  • Schedule and conduct face-to-face sales meetings with prospects and existing customers
  • Responsible for ensuring weekly KPI sales targets, activities and goals are met
  • Generate forecasts on sales volumes
  • Identify, develop and build a significant sales pipeline of opportunities to mid-market and blue chip clients
  • Enter sales activity into the Tranco CRM in an accurate and timely manner ensuring adherence to processes
  • Ability to focus on effectively closing deals for repeat business
  • Cross sell across our suite of service offerings including; International, Drayage, National and Customs
  • Create SOP’s for strategic accounts
  • Responsible for onboarding new clients in tandem with the relevant operations team
  • Provide innovative solutions to best meet clients’ needs
  • Negotiate rates and pricing for prospects and existing customers
  • Effectively communicate with customers, agents, and co-workers, both domestically and internationally
  • Maintain professional conduct with colleagues and customers
  • Adhere to Tranco policies and procedures
  • Comply with all government regulations
  • Collaborate with management and operations to lead Tranco in establishing meaningful customer relationships
  • Make direct and joint sales calls with prospects and existing customers

Job Requirements

Experience:

  • Ability to sell Tranco Global services to new customers and generate added value
  • Requires 10+ years of selling freight services
  • A proven track record of experience in and business development
  • Possess a high level of commercial awareness
  • Overnight travel required (Estimated – 20%)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, hungry for success and having a positive outlook
  • Microsoft Office computer skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
  • Due to the legal requirements of Tranco’s business, applicants will be subject to a thorough background check that precludes any felony convictions
