We are working with a company who are at the forefront of revolutionizing global communication. They are building the first space-based cellular broadband network accessible directly by standard mobile phones. This technology aims to bridge the connectivity gap for the billions of people worldwide who are currently without reliable cellular coverage.
They are looking for a Mechanical Manager to work on the satellite mechanism subsystems.
Responsibilities:
Provide functional and technical leadership for all mechanisms GSE design and AI&T activities for large deployable elements.
Project planning and scheduling for both design and test phases
Resource allocation
Guide the team members to excellent designs and well thought out development qualification and acceptance test plans.
Develop and interpret requirements
Drive designs to meet technical requirements, cost targets, and schedule constraints.
Perform trade studies to choose from potential design solutions.
Drive requirements for required mechanisms Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) and Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE).
Present technical and schedule status to Management.
Coordinate daily activities for prototyping and testing of mechanisms
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Must be a US citizen or have permanent resident card.
5+ years previous experience working on space mechanisms with significant experience in developing Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for deployable mechanisms.
Experience with designing for manufacturing is a big plus.
Knowledge of other space mechanisms
Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
