Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prospecting Future Clients & Opportunities (Cross-Selling):
- Identify and pursue potential clients and business opportunities within the area.
- Promote cross-selling initiatives and collaboration across different service lines.
- Monitor and prioritize business development and sales activities to achieve strategic objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Development team to enhance client engagement and satisfaction.
- Participate in relevant regional industry events and conferences to expand network and visibility.
- Evaluate and secure sponsorship opportunities to strengthen RailPros' regional presence.
- Work closely with finance and project management teams to monitor area client accounts and project financials.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement, reporting findings to the Regional VP.
- Assess resource requirements for area projects and oversee hiring processes to ensure optimal team composition.
- Ensure appropriate allocation of talent across projects to meet client expectations and project milestones.
- Foster a supportive work environment through mentoring and professional development opportunities.
- Organize engagement activities to enhance team morale and cohesion.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to facilitate seamless information flow across the area, region, and corporate headquarters.
- Foster transparent communication channels to promote organizational alignment and efficiency.
- Identify and coordinate internal and external training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
- Ensure team members are equipped with current industry best practices and regulatory updates.
Organizational Leadership:
- Assist in organizational leadership initiatives and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
- Support the overall growth and development of RailPros through proactive leadership and innovation.
- Identify and nominate outstanding individuals and projects for industry recognition and awards.
- Cultivate a culture of achievement and celebrate successes within the area and organization.
- Collaborate with senior management to establish realistic and achievable annual sales targets for the area.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at meeting or exceeding sales goals and objectives.
- Manage client contracts, facilitate meetings, and resolve issues promptly to maintain client satisfaction.
- Prioritize client meetings and surveys to gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Monitor client invoicing, work in progress (WIP), and accounts receivable (AR) to ensure timely and accurate billing.
- Collaborate with the PIC to streamline invoicing processes and address client overlaps.
- Assist in the development and advancement of supervisory roles within the area.
- Participate in compensation decisions, including raises and bonuses, to reward and retain top talent.
- Collaborate with corporate departments to address operational support needs for the area.
- Coordinate efforts related to proposals, marketing, sponsorships, and administrative functions to support business growth.
- Analyze growth trends and assess the need for additional resources or office space to support regional operations.
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans aimed at scaling operations and enhancing market presence.
- Manage the area's office budget, monitor expenses, and revenue to ensure financial health.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as EBITDA and cash flow, aligning budgets with corporate objectives.
- Optimize operational costs, including rent, utilities, and office supplies, while maintaining quality standards.
- Evaluate office space requirements and make recommendations for space optimization.
- Implement strategies to manage and optimize overhead and indirect costs for efficient resource allocation.
- Ensure maximum productivity and cost-effectiveness across operational functions.
Identify National Conference Papers/Presentations:
- Identify opportunities to showcase RailPros' expertise at national conferences and forums.
- Support staff in presenting at conferences to enhance thought leadership and industry visibility.
- Provide leadership and effective management to foster client relationships and team collaboration.
- Build a professional network and strengthen RailPros' industry presence through networking and client engagement.
- Participate in project reviews to ensure quality delivery, client satisfaction, and adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with the PIC to implement improvement strategies based on project feedback.
- Assist in reviewing project scopes and pricing to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Enforce pricing and scope rules effectively to optimize project profitability and client satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Professional engineering license (PE) or equivalent.
- Proven leadership experience in regional or departmental roles.
- Strong project management and budgeting skills.
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and presentation abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the engineering industry and current trends.
- Ability to cultivate a culture of quality, growth, and continuous improvement.
- Strategic thinking and adept problem-solving abilities.
- Established relationships within the area, including consultants, teaming partners, and clients.
- Experience in business development, client management, and project execution within the region.
- 10-15 years of industry experience.
- Master’s Degree.
- 20+ years of prior experience.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning to stay abreast of contemporary issues.
