Summary

About the Position: Serve as the Resident Engineer with direct responsibility for field and contract administration work associated with the construction program assigned to the Resident Office. Supervise the Resident contract administration staff and work operations. Apply full professional engineering knowledge together with practical knowledge of construction methods and techniques in accomplishing assignments.

  • Administer and modify construction contracts within the scope of the contract.
  • Serve as the authoritative Corps representative for the Resident office.
  • Assume full responsibility for administering the District safety program within the Resident Office.

  • DAWIA Contracting Professional Certification is required within 36 months of appointment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with civil works and/or military construction directly involved with construction management, application of a broad range of environmental principles in accomplishing the construction mission; and applying construction contracting procedures and contract administration. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Selective Placement Factor: This position requires possession of a Professional Registration: Professional Engineering (PE), Professional Architect (AIA), or Professional Geologist. (Note: A copy of your current registration must be provided as part of your application packet.)

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.   • Salary Range is dependent on assigned Job Series; Job Series 0810/0830/0850 $129,834-$156,393, Job Series 0808/1350 $115,793-$150,535 per annum.
