The Vice President of Technical Operations will play a critical leadership role in overseeing and advancing the technical operations within our organisation. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective development, manufacturing, and delivery of cell and gene therapy products. The VP of Technical Operations will lead a team of experts, manage cross-functional projects, and collaborate closely with senior management to drive the strategic direction and growth of our technical operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for technical operations aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of scientists, engineers, and technical professionals.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of product development and manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Implement robust quality systems and operational protocols to maintain high standards of product quality and compliance.
  • Optimise manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage complex projects, timelines, and budgets, ensuring successful project delivery within scope and on schedule.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and supply chain, to achieve project milestones.
  • Provide expert guidance on technical challenges, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for cell and gene therapy manufacturing processes.
  • Drive the implementation of innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance product development and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Act as a key liaison with clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and alignment on project objectives.
  • Prepare and present reports, proposals, and strategic plans to senior management and the board of directors.


Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MS, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical operations within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on cell and gene therapy.
  • Proven track record of leadership and management experience, including building and leading high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP regulations, quality systems, and regulatory requirements for cell and gene therapy products.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in overseeing complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
