The Finance Chief of Staff office is responsible for leading the development and execution of key initiatives and priorities for the Chief Financial Officer to drive functional success and support the CFO. The Chief of Staff team executes against multiple projects, day-to-day management, and standardization of processes across the function. The team has a global Finance-wide reach and interaction with all other Citi businesses and functions.
The VP within the Finance Chief of Staff office is a professional who can support the office across a variety of initiatives including preparation for leadership meetings, CFO domestic/international travel, board sessions, investor engagement, leadership team planning, and other projects. This individual has a keen focus on forward planning and takes a proactive approach to preparing for longer-term projects/deliverables. This individual has strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders including direct team members, the broader Finance organization and members of senior leadership. This individual works closely with the Finance HR partners, communications team, and the Finance leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Lead forward planning across all areas of the CFO’s commitments, including travel, offsites, Board, town halls, staff meetings and more
Assist the Chief of Staff team in supporting the CFO’s day-to-day operations/correspondence and the ongoing running of the Office of the CFO
Ensure the CFO is fully prepared for all relevant engagements by reviewing/preparing briefing materials and/or talking points; conduct due diligence and analyses to ensure key messages are delivered to the CFO
Support the Chief of Staff in management and governance activities through building agendas, coordinating with subject matter experts, creating and distributing materials, tracking follow-ups and ensuring smooth execution of the meeting/event
Provide critical support to the team across various projects and day-to-day work, particularly during critical times (i.e. Investor Day, Earnings, Board Meetings, etc.)
Coordinate culture and VOE efforts for the Finance function, working to ensure that tangible initiatives are stood up throughout the year in response to feedback
Apply a proactive approach in forward planning and tracking of progress leading up to key meetings/events
Work closely with the Chief of Staff, CFO, Finance Leadership team, and partners across the firm
Partner with global Finance teams to organize and execute travel and events for the CFO
Articulate problems and bring the right people together to create solutions
Maintain a high level of integrity when working with complex and confidential information
Build and develop materials for key management forums, including Finance Town Halls and Finance Managing Director Calls
Partner closely with stakeholders within and outside of Finance, including but not limited to the Finance HR team, the Finance ESPA team, Citigroup Investor Relations, and the Client organization
Collaborate with the executive scorecard team on the development of scorecards for Finance executives
In partnership with others across the firm, analyze, understand, and track progress against the CFO’s scorecard to ensure goals progressing throughout the year
Manage miscellaneous matters, including maintaining Office of the CFO informational documents, tracking meetings and metrics, and creating/updating dashboards
Qualifications:
5+ years relevant experience
Required skills include project management, quantitative aptitude, and the ability to effectively synthesize and communicate complex business issues through concise presentation skills
Good interpersonal skills to oversee cross disciplinary work streams
Extensive project management and strategic analysis experience
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage many priorities at once
Interest and experience in the financial services industry
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
