After Epson Tour Officials surveyed the course at 8:06 a.m. local time, the course was deemed unplayable due to rain, and the second round of the Hartford HealthCare Women's Championship was delayed. The tournament resumed at 12:05 p.m. and was suspended due to darkness at 7:55 p.m.
The second round is expected to resume tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. ET with a cut being made to the top 60 and ties following the conclusion of play. The final round will begin immediately after the cut is made with a trophy ceremony to follow the completion of play.
Before play was suspended, the morning wave finished their rounds, with Daniela Iacobelli occupying the top spot on the leaderboard after a 5-under 67 in her second round. Iacobelli got hot coming down the stretch on day two, carding three birdies in her last four holes to close her back nine with a bogey-free 4-under 32. The afternoon wave has yet to finish, but Iacobelli is pleased with where her game is, no matter the outcome on Sunday.
"Well, the round felt hot. Literally and figuratively," said Iacobelli. "A win would feel indescribable. There are a lot of hours that go into this. A lot of moments you miss at home. A lot of highs and lows. Right now, it's a high, no matter the outcome tomorrow."
