What a great column! I well remember Saturday, August 20, 1977: I went to a newsstand and saw the New York Daily News, which was partially covered by some other papers. All i saw was half a headline: "Dead At 86." I lifted it up, and saw the name "Groucho Marx." It was one of my worst days. I first saw the Marx Brothers in a quadruple bill at the Ziegfield Theater: Night At the Opera, A Day At the Races, At the Circus and the Big Store.
