When April Walker launched her streetwear brand Walker Wear in the ’90s, she dressed some of hip-hop’s biggest icons, including Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., and Jay-Z. Inspired by Walker and other visionary designers like Misa Hylton, Syreeta Gates founded The Gates Preserve to preserve and celebrate hip-hop culture, ensuring its rich history is archived for future generations to enjoy.
