Bridgerton Season 3 is now streaming in its entirety, so you can enjoy all the swoons — and surprises — from your own drawing room.
Part 2, which premiered June 13, picks up from the Part 1 finale, which saw Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) propose to blooming wallflower Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). As Colin and Penelope reflect on their newfound relationship in Part 2, they seem to realize just how in love they are. Yet secrets still hang over the happy couple. Namely, that Mayfair knows Penelope by another, more secret, moniker: Lady Whistledown, the ton’s most infamous scandal sheet writer.
Season 3 of Bridgerton has officially entered Netflix’s list of all-time most popular English-language TV shows at No. 10, earning 91.9 million views between May 16 and June 30. It joins Seasons 1 and 2, which hold the No. 4 and No. 9 spots respectively. And all three seasons are on the most popular English TV list the week of June 24, at No. 1 (Season 3), No. 5 (Season 2), and No. 6 (Season 1), with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story at No. 8.
Creator Shonda Rhimes tells Netflix, “We are grateful for the incredible response Bridgerton has received from fans all around the globe. Shondaland is so proud that audiences far and wide have connected with our storytelling and the Bridgerton world we have built. We look forward to bringing more of this beloved universe to screens for years to come.”
Keep reading below for all the juicy Season 3 details worthy of Lady Whistledown’s next dispatch, including the new photos of Part 2 that would surely grab the ton’s attention.
Bridgerton Season 3 was split into two batches, each of four episodes. All eight episodes are now available for your viewing pleasure.
Part 2 dives into the aftermath of the Part 1’s cliff-hanger ending, showrunner Jess Brownell reveals. “There is a natural structure to eight episodes, and we’ve done it actually every season, that Episode 4 ends on a big world-shifting midpoint,” she tells Tudum. “Viewers know that there’s an extra thing dangling over Penelope and Colin that will provide conflict going into the back half.”
Tune in now to find out what that tension will be — and how Polin deals with it.
In Season 3, you can expect to see many of the Bridgerton faces you’ve come to love, along with some new ones. The Bridgerton main cast members are as follows:
News of Colin and Penelope’s engagement quickly spreads through Mayfair. Some — like romantic mama Violet — are delighted. Others — including both Colin and Penelope’s siblings — are shocked. Polin, however, just wants to delight in their love; you’ll have to watch the clip to see many sweet (and sultry) moments between the pair. One shot might particularly thrill avid readers of the Bridgerton book series by Julia Quinn.
“Colin doesn’t mind making a fool of himself in front of the person that he loves,” Newton tells Tudum. “That’s where the friends-to-lovers trope really comes into play — there’s no pretense. They can’t pretend to be anyone else in front of each other because they’ve known each other for so long. So that’s actually something that’s really special that I think people will resonate with when they watch the show.”
However, there’s a secret threatening Polin’s joy: The clock is ticking on Penelope’s Whistledown-sized secret. Will she reveal the truth when she has so much to lose? Will Eloise, who’s shocked to learn her former best friend is engaged to her older brother, be able to keep Penelope’s most delicate secret? All these revelations — and more — await.
No need to crane your neck around the ballroom — they’re right here.
The latest photos give viewers glimpses all around our Part 2 return to Mayfair. In one image, we see burgeoning couple Francesca and John deep in conversation, which has always been the activity that brings these lovebirds together.
“John and Fran get along; they understand each other,” Alli, who portrays John, tells Tudum. “There is a knowing.”
You can also see photos of the rest of the Bridgerton family, including Violet, Eloise, and Benedict, whose relationship with Tilley evolves to new heights in the second half of Season 3.
In the aftermath of Season 2’s Featherington Ball, Penelope is left heartbroken after overhearing Colin say to a group of bachelors that he would never court her. Penelope’s falling out with best friend Eloise (Claudia Jessie) in the Season 2 finale won’t help her mood either. But at Tudum: A Global Fan Event, Coughlan assured viewers Penelope is ready for a scandalous new London season in Season 3.
“Polin stans, I see you!” Coughlan said from the Tudum stage in June 2023. “This season Penelope returns to London determined to become a new woman with a new independence … We cannot wait to take you along for the carriage ride.”
According to the official synopsis, Penelope enters Season 3 finally ready to give up her longtime crush on Colin. However, that doesn’t mean she’s done with love. Instead, Penelope has decided it’s time to take a husband — and preferably one who will give her the freedom to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from the prying eyes of her mother and sisters.
Yet, as the rest of the synopsis reads, “lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly. Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise, who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.”

The gilded doors of Bridgerton Season 3 opened in July 2022; the cast announced the production news with a video nodding toward a beloved Season 2 finale moment. Bailey, who led Season 2 as the dashing Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, kicks off the clip by doing the hand gesture for 2 and turning it to 3. Anthony does a similar motion in Season 2, Episode 8 toward love interest Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) to “steady” her after a near-tragic fall.
The rest of Bailey’s co-stars follow suit, including Jessie, Andoh, Gemmell, and Thompson. Finally, Newton pops up to make the 3 sign, only to open a carriage for the final star of the video, Coughlan, who’s gotten a serious style upgrade as Penelope.
“Bridgerton Season 3 filming has officially begun,” she says before turning to Newton and asking, “You coming in?” Fans of Quinn’s Bridgerton books might be particularly excited to see this playful exchange — it’s a nod to Polin’s famously steamy carriage scene from the novel Romancing Mister Bridgerton. “I can’t confirm or deny what’s in [Season 3] and what isn’t ... But from what I have heard, people are going to be extremely pleased,” Coughlan told Tudum in May.
