Eleven-time World Surf League champion Kelly Slater competes during the Outerknown Tahiti Pro 2022, part of the Men’s WSL Championship Tour, on August 18. The 50-year-old Floridian is widely regarded as the greatest competitive surfer of all time, with 55 career victories since his professional debut in 1990. During the competition, Slater made it to the quarterfinals, before losing to Tahitian Kauli Vaast. Earlier this year, he won the top spot at the Billabong Pro Pipeline.
