'The Book of Boba Fett': Release Date, Cast, Trailer and Plot—All We Know So Far

Boba Fett made a triumphant return to the Star Wars franchise when he featured in The Mandalorian Season 2.

The iconic bounty hunter first appeared in the original trilogy serving crime lord Jabba the Hutt, and he is now taking the spotlight after getting his armour back from the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) in Season 2.

Boba Fett is one of several characters that have been given their own show off the back of The Mandalorian.

Here is everything you need to know about the Disney+ spin-off series.

When is The Book of Boba Fett out?

The series was first teased in the post-credits scene of The Mandalorian Season 2 which showed Boba Fett and Fennec Shand take over Jabba the Hutt's old throne.

Disney+ has now confirmed that the show will start airing weekly from December 29, 2021, and according to IMDb there will be eight episodes in total.

Who Stars in The Book of Boba Fett?

Temuera Morrison will reprise his role as Boba Fett, and he first appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy as Jango Fett, as well as genetic clones of himself, all before he went on to play the famed bounty hunter.

He voiced the character in a number of video games before finally appeared onscreen as Boba Fett for the first time in The Mandalorian.

Ming-Na Wen also returns to the role of Shand, a skilled assassin who has foiled the Mandalorian on several occasions.

Other cast members for the show have yet to be officially confirmed.

What Will Happen in The Book of Boba Fett?

The spin-off series will focus on its eponymous character as he navigates the criminal underworld alongside Shand.

Boba and Shand return to Tatooine to stake their claim on the lands left by Jabba the Hutt, with the bounty hunter hoping to rule in a very different way.

The show will see him try and make an alliance rather than rule with an iron fist, with Boba and Shand dealing with a number of obstacles along the way.

Is There a Trailer for The Book of Boba Fett?

Yes, a trailer was released on November 1 which gave fans a closer look at the series as well as confirming the show's release date.

As well as showing Boba Fett as he tries to persuade others to join his cause after taking over the deceased Jabba the Hutt's vacant throne, it shares a glimpse of intense fight scenes.

The Book of Boba Fett will be released on a weekly basis on Disney+ from December 29.
