Daily Show Video of Fox News Calling Democrats 'Sore Losers' Over 2018 Midterms Viewed 6 Million Times

A montage by The Daily Show of Fox News hosts and Republicans accusing Democrats of not conceding in the 2018 midterms has been watched six million times on Twitter. The Daily Show shared the video and said: "Meanwhile in 2018..."

The video sees numerous hosts accuse the Democrats of being "sore losers" and of having a "problem conceding defeat," in stark contrast to how they have reacted to President Donald Trump's behavior over the past few days after he lost the election to President-elect Joe Biden.

The video features White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, Fox host Laura Ingraham, former speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich, and Fox News' Jeanine Pirro, among others. It has been viewed more than 6 million times, shared more than 70,000 times, and liked more than 160,000 times.

The video sees Republicans make numerous accusations against Democrats, including not accepting election results, finding "missing ballots," stealing elections through lawsuits, and spreading conspiracy theories about the election.

As a spokesperson for the RNC in 2018, McEnany can be seen in the video saying: "The Democrats are being sore losers. They refuse to acknowledge they lost the election. So what do they do? They cry malfeasance, wrongdoing, criminality, fraud."

Yesterday, Fox News cut away from a press conference held by McEnany as she made accusations of voter fraud against the Democratic party with no evidence. Upon cutting away, host Neil Cavuto said: "Whoa, whoa, whoa—I just think we have to be very clear.

"She's charging the other side as welcoming fraud and welcoming illegal voting. Unless she has more details to back that up, I can't in good countenance continue to show you this."

The Daily Show video also sees Fox host Ingraham saying in 2018: "Democrats, more so than Republicans, seem to have a problem conceding defeat. Either the election system broke down, or some mystery votes are hiding somewhere."

Trump has not yet conceded his defeat in the election, and there is speculation around whether he will concede at all, as the president even tweeted today: "We will win!"

Additionally, in a clip from the Ingraham Angle posted to Twitter today, November 10, Ingraham made the unfounded claim that: "There is no question that mass mail-in voting... It's been an unmitigated disaster.

"We must never again allow Democrats to foist this on our country, given what we're seeing days, and days later, we still don't have final vote counts."

The viral video from The Daily Show also shows that in 2018, Gingrich said on Fox News: "You have a whole series of Democrats who've just said bluntly, 'If our candidate doesn't win, they stole the election.'"

On November 8, Trump quoted Gingrich in a tweet that was flagged by Twitter for being a disputed claim, saying: "We believe these people are thieves. The big city machines are corrupt. This was a stolen election."

Following the results of the 2020 election, Trump has claimed repeatedly that the election was stolen with no evidence, with his supporters adopting "stop the steal" as a motto.
