Dog Caught 'Plotting Revenge' After Realizing He's No Longer Family's Baby

Frustrated the family didn't confirm with him before bringing home a baby, one dog is making it very well known he is not a happy camper.

Harry the dachshund grew accustomed to being the center of his owners' universe. used to be the family's entire world. He got their undivided attention whenever he wanted. But, when they returned from the hospital with a baby in tow, Harry's entire world flipped upside down.

Not every interaction or meeting between dogs and newborns is filled with rainbows and butterflies. It's rather unpredictable, a Chewy article stated. Dogs might get jealous or nervous. Anxiety might kick in. Time and patience usually help the new relationship form.

But time hasn't been on Harry's side. He is still not over getting pushed out of his household baby role and a May 21 TikTok video posted by his owner, @hannahhnhernandez, shows him "plotting his revenge."

He was resting on his doggy bed next to his owner and the newborn in the clip. Still on edge, he kept an eye open. He wanted his owner to know he was watching her every move as she slowly rocked the baby instead of giving him pets.

His side-eye spoke volumes. He would never forget this moment and he was going to make sure karma came back to get his owners and the new baby. He was silently working through a plan to become the family baby once again.

Newsweek reached out to @hannahhnhernandez via TikTok for additional comment.

Bringing home a newborn is as much of a lifestyle adjustment for pets as it is for parents. Your pet might feel replaced. To avoid any hard feelings, the ASPCA recommends creating positive associations for your dog while around the baby.

This means multitasking and giving both your dog and baby attention together. When the baby is present, give your dog love such as treats, pets and playing. If the baby eats, the dog eats. Bring your baby along when walking the dog. Doing this will help the dog realize good things happen when the newborn is around.

'Count Your Days'

The hilarious TikTok video amassed over 946,900 views, 174,700 likes and 764 comments as of Friday.

"He's telling you that you best sleep with one eye open!" said a viewer, while another added: "I know that pup is prob a sweetie but this actually scared me! That side eye was giving count your days."

A third TikToker pointed out: "That side-eye is nastyyyy."

Knowing how the dog has reacted, one user commented: "I feel like you should've taken a vote on that whole baby situation."
