Ryan Reynolds' Top Taylor Swift Song Is Exactly What You'd Expect

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Ryan Reynolds recently revealed his favorite Taylor Swift song and the choice seems very fitting for the actor.

During a fun quiz segment with his Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman and director Shawn Levy for Variety, Reynolds was asked about his favorite Swift track. In the interview, which was posted on Wednesday, July 10, Jackman confidently guessed "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," reminiscing how the Free Guy actor sang it passionately to him on the last day of shooting the third Deadpool movie.

Levy, on the other hand, thought it might be "Gorgeous." Neither was right.

Reynolds revealed his favorite song is actually "Betty" from Swift's 2020 album, Folklore. Obviously, as Swifties will know, this choice makes perfect sense. The pop star incorporated the names of Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively's three children at the time – James, Inez, and Betty – into the song's lyrics. Lively, by the way, is one of the singer's closest pals.

Swift delighted fans by mentioning the three children again, this time during an Eras Tour concert in Madrid on Wednesday, May 29. During her Folklore set, the 14-time Grammy winner mentioned the three young girls by name, which can be seen in a video uploaded to TikTok.

"I have to say that on Folklore some of my favorite characters are named James, Inez and Betty," the pop star said as the crowd screamed in excitement.

Reynolds and Lively welcomed their fourth child in February 2023, but the name has yet to be revealed. The 47-year-old joked in a May interview on Today with Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, "We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child's name will be... We're still waiting, so, Taylor, let's maybe start, you know."
