Watch Jedi Master Luke Skywalker Become the Padawan as Ninja Teaches Mark Hamill How to Play Fortnite on Xbox

Star Wars legend Mark Hamill meets video game master Ninja for a gaming lesson at Fortnite's Winterfest event on Thursday.

The episode of Xbox Sessions, airing on December 19 at 9:00 a.m. ET on the Mixer Xbox channel and YouTube Xbox channel, will see the Luke Skywalker actor learn the ropes of Fortnite from Ninja (aka Richard Blevins) via the video game's new split screen feature, with possible appearances from Mixer streamer Simby.

"You may even get a glimpse of Mark talking about voice acting and his family's history of gaming in the Hamill house," the company hints in its press release.

Various items for Fortnite's Winterfest, including new outfits from the Polar Legends Pack including Codename E.L.F., The Devourer, Frozen Nog Ops, Frozen Fish Stick, along with new gliders, pickaxes, wraps and emotes, are available now for Xbox One on the Microsoft Store.

Following last week's Fortnite Star Wars Live event, players can also obtain Star Wars-themed items in-game, including lightsabers, plasma rifles, and skins.

The latest Fortnite event comes after Ninja's move from Twitch to the Mixer back in August, which pushed many gamers to give Mixer a try.

"I have been holding on to this for quite some time," Ninja said in a video in August. "I'll be streaming on Mixer full-time now and I'm honestly at a loss for words. I'm freaking out in the best ways. I feel like I'm going to get back to the streaming roots," he added.

Having had more than 14 million subscribers on Twitch, his Mixer channel was reported to have had more than 43,000 subscribers around the time he first made the switch.

Microsoft may be hoping to entice more users to join the platform with the help of big franchises like Stars Wars and its Hollywood icons like Hamill.

The total hours of gaming content streamed on Mixer was reported to have increased to 32.6 million in the 3 months following Ninja's switch, which was 188 percent increase from the 3 months prior to his move, according to the latest report by Streamlabs, Business Insider reports.

However, the rise in streaming did not come with an increase in viewers, with the platform having reported a 10.6 percent drop in total hours watched in the three months since Ninja's announcement, according to the Streamlabs report.

Mixer also reported less total hours watched in September (29.6 million), a month after Ninja arrived, than in July (37.7 million), a month prior to the switch, according to data from Arsenal.gg, Business Insider reports.
