Melania Trump's Former Aide Slams Her Mother's Day Message

Melania Trump's former friend and aide Stephanie Winston Wolkoff has slammed a Mother's Day message that the erstwhile first lady shared online over the weekend.

On Sunday, a post was shared on X, formerly Twitter, on Trump's account, in which she made a statement about how mothers "can institute a sense of unity, respect, and calm across the next generation."

In the post, titled, "Mother's Day 2024," the mother-of-one wrote: "Mothers are the cornerstone of a flourishing society. I take great pride in embracing this responsibility. And, although nothing makes me prouder than the relationship I have built with my son, only a mother knows that some of our efforts remain unnoticed.

"Motherhood exists as the bedrock of the American family, and mothers tend to wear several hats: emotional support, inspirational growth, health, love, humor, education, and more. We strive to provide our children with the building blocks to create meaningful relationships, plus the tools to eventually grow into mindful adults who thrive."

"When moms are healthy, our communities are too," Trump went on. "As mothers, we are inclined to honor our mothers and mother figures on Mother's Day, but we must also be mindful of ourselves. It may be difficult to imagine, but when moms prioritize self-care, our families and children enjoy greater stability.

"Together, as mothers, we can institute a sense of unity, respect, and calm across the next generation."

Winston Wolkoff, who was hired by Trump after former President Donald Trump's 2016 election victory but has publicly criticized the couple since stepping down from her role, took issue with the X post, suggesting hypocrisy on Melania Trump's part.

"Betrayal between mothers is especially deep when one chooses lies over truth, showing a disregard not just for honesty, but for the bond that did unite them," Winston Wolkoff responded late Sunday. "Have you @MELANIATRUMP ever considered or cared how your actions & false accusations against ME impacted MY children?"

Newsweek has contacted Melania Trump and Winston Wolkoff via website request form and social media, respectively, for comment.

Winston Wolkoff has been highly critical of Melania Trump in the years since their relationship soured. She was the former first lady's first hire after Donald Trump's 2016 election victory and has frequently shared her thoughts on the couple since stepping down from her post. The women's friendship ended following reports that Winston Wolkoff benefited handsomely as a contractor for the 2017 presidential inauguration.

In February 2018, Melania Trump cut ties with Winston Wolkoff after it was reported that her event planning company, WIS Media Partners, received $26 million to help coordinate Donald Trump's inauguration.

In Winston Wolkoff's 2020 book, Melania and Me, the former aide said she resigned because the Trump administration scapegoated her. She has denied claims that she received $26 million, countering that she was paid a fee of $1.6 million.

"Melania and Donald Trump weaponized the DOJ against me by having Jeffrey Clark sue me to try and silence me so the truth and the facts about this, them, and so much more wouldn't be shared with the American people," Winston Wolkoff previously told Newsweek.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump marked Mother's Day with a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, wishing a "Happy Mother's Day to ALL, in particular the Mothers, Wives and Lovers of the Radical Left Fascists, Marxists, and Communists who are doing everything within their power to destroy and obliterate our once great Country."

"Please make these complete Lunatics and Maniacs Kinder, Gentler, Softer and, most importantly, Smarter, so that we can, quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!," the presumptive Republican presidential nominee added.

In a later message on the social media platform, Donald Trump stated: "I hope that all of the incredible MOTHERS out there had an incredible day. You are the most special people of them all!!!"
