Teen Has Dilemma the Night Before Prom, Parents Come to Rescue—'Team Work'

Parents just want you to be happy—and to look your best.

One set of parents definitely did their part in a viral video posted by Christy Bruski (@christybruski). The video revealed how she and her husband helped their daughter wash her hair the night before prom after a spray tan.

Since it was posted on May 15, the video has received over 420,000 views and over 24,000 likes.

"When it's the night before prom and your daughter gets a spray tan and can't get wet, but needs to wash her hair," she captioned the video. "What we do for our baby girl!"

The video shows Bruski and her husband washing their daughter's hair over the kitchen sink, mimicking a proper salon wash. In the comments, Bruski clarified that while her daughter did intend to shower before prom, she had hair extensions which would be better off washed the night before prom, rather than the morning of.

Bruski added that the operation took place at 11:30 p.m. and that she works as a hairstylist.

Viewers in the comments gushed at the doting parents' display of support, guessing that it harkens back to memories the family likely made years ago.

"Your dad looks at you like you're still his little girl, it's so adorable," @sa_miz wrote.

"Gave her baths in the sink as a baby probably, to now washing her hair in the sink for one of her biggest life events," @shyizzyy wrote.

Many also shared how important it was for parents to show up for their children in such small but meaningful ways: "Best parents ever," @rmart1n wrote. "It's seriously the little things that matter so much."

"Love it," @lorelleholla wrote. "Proud to say my parents would've done the same for me at that age, and probably would now."

Moments of parental support shine online

On TikTok, stories and clips of parents showing up for their children capture the hearts of thousands—and often, it is the smallest things that mean the most.

A recently viral video revealed the way one mother relentlessly supports her makeup artist daughter by being her unofficial assistant. The video shows the creator's mother washing makeup brushes while she is hard at work. It has received nearly 500,000 views.

"Meet my beautiful mom," @_mariellaminniti captioned the video. "She's been at almost every makeup job with me, cleaning my brushes between clients and making sure I have food and coffee to keep me going."

Another instance of parental support online came in the form of random but endearing objects one mother sent her daughter home with—including a brick of salted butter and a massive plant—which the daughter rated in terms of practicality.

Videos of acts like these abound, but many point to a common theme: Children of considerate parents are taking note and determined to get them the praise they deserve.
