When looking for a new job, it's vital to maintain a level of professionalism. Unfortunately for one woman, that didn't go to plan when she mistakenly sent photos meant for someone else to a recruiter.
After Lily Blackmore, 24, contacted the recruiter about a potential job opportunity, it was all going according to plan, and she was hopeful that it might lead to a new position. But then she made the mistake that everyone dreads when she thought she'd messaged her stepdad, only to discover that she'd actually sent the images to the recruiter.
Blackmore told Newsweek: "I had never spoken to this woman before I messaged her about the job, and I asked if it was still available before I accidentally sent her the photos. I meant to send the photos to my stepdad, and I only realized that I'd sent her the photos when I got a response."
The pictures she sent showed the flowers that Blackmore, of Canterbury, U.K., planted in her late parents' honor. She meant to send them to her stepdad to show how well they were growing, but she was "so shocked" when she realized her mishap.

She only understood what happened when she saw the very gracious reply from the recruiter, who told Blackmore that the plants looked wonderful.
"I lost my parents three years apart two separate ways, and I have only just managed to find ways to cope. This brought me so much laughter, and I know my mom and dad would have found it so funny too," she continued.
Thankfully for Blackmore, the recruiter was very understanding and has even offered her a trial day since this happened.
How Did Social Media Respond?
Once Blackmore cleared up the mistake, she couldn't resist sharing it on TikTok (@lilsduhh) much to the amusement of social media users. Alongside the hilarious clip, the horrified Blackmore wrote: "I hate myself."
In just a matter of days, Blackmore's video has gone viral with more than 101,400 views and over 4,300 likes on TikTok.
The overwhelmingly positive response has shown Blackmore "how magical social media can be," and it's allowed her to connect with other people who are also dealing with grief. While the flowers were meant for a moment of somber reflection, she's loved finding joy and laughter from this happy accident.
Blackmore told Newsweek: "The reaction has been amazing, and everyone is calling this woman a queen, while others are telling me to take the job and have asked for updates. It's been so nice to see that there are really kind people in what feels like a horrible world sometimes."
Blackmore's mistake certainly amused many, but plenty of TikTok users have also praised the recruiter for her kind reply. One comment reads: "She sounds like she would be the best boss! apply apply apply!"
Another person responded: "I love that she complimented the flowers though."
While another TikTok user wrote: "That woman is a Queen! You can tell she is a kind soul."
