Maddy Myers has worked as a video game journalist since 2007 and as an editor since 2013. She has run Polygon’s games section since 2020; prior to that, she worked for Kotaku (2017-20), The Mary Sue (2015-17), and the Boston Phoenix (2007-13). Her writing about video games, with a specialty in competitive games (from Counter-Strike to Street Fighter), has also appeared in Paste Magazine, Offworld, Kill Screen, and MIT Technology Review. She co-hosts a weekly video game podcast on the Maximum Fun network called Triple Click, as well as a weekly X-Men podcast called The Mutant Ages. She won 1st Place (Social Issues Feature category) in the 2011 New England Newspaper and Press Association Awards for her work in the Boston Phoenix, and she was shortlisted for the New York Videogame Critics Circle’s Games Journalism Award in 2020.
