Two trains collide in rural Russia, one of them housing nuclear weapons that go missing after the wreck, and the U.S. government is alerted. Nuclear specialist Dr. Julia Kelly (Nicole Kidman) believes that there will soon be a terrorist attack, so Lt. Col. Thomas Devoe (George Clooney) joins Dr. Kelly as they try to track down the warhead-stealing culprits. They learn that Yugoslav terrorist Gavrich (Marcel Iures) has his hands on the weapons, and he's plotting a devastating attack on New York.

I just watched the movie again and found the Nicole Kidman character to be a milk toast. She was the one in charge but handed her power over to the Man. This really annoyed me but otherwise I enjoyed it.

Nicole lindamente irreconhecível, morena, mulher empoderada em cargo de liderança, amamos... Uma boa trama de suspense, digamos que bem vibe anos 90, Supercine e afins, não envelheceu tão mal assim, mas se torna menos interessante com o tempo, apesar da temática ser sempre atual, terrorismo, guerra nuclear, EUA salvadores da pátria, digo, mundo, boa cenas de ação, efeitos ok também, tudo muito receita do bolo, mais do mesmo… Rápido, ágil, explosivo, regular e básico...

Good time watching this thriller. Clooney as a military was good, but Nicole’s character was missing something. They had good chemistry. Maybe he was too likable and you couldn’t tell that there’s supposed to be conflict between them. The bad guy had a deeper description than the good guys.
