On one day in 1989, 43 infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who creates the Umbrella Academy and prepares his "children" to save the world. In their teenage years, though, the family fractures and the team disbands. Fast forward to the present time, when the six surviving members of the clan reunite upon the news of Hargreeves' passing. They work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father's death, but divergent personalities and abilities again pull the estranged family apart, and a global apocalypse is another imminent threat. The series is based on a collection of comics and graphic novels created and written by My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way.

The Umbrella Academy ending now could be considered yet more evidence of the ongoing contraction superhero content is currently experiencing. It’s ending strong, though, with enough commitment to its characters to make its most memorable moments shine.

Best season of the lot I thought, loved the way they explored how 'supers' deal with real life, and the grey areas of the characters - very human. The one downer for me was having Klaus flip back his pre-Dad-hangs-knowing-his-powers/self type so easily, that didn't really feel true to his character's growth in the previous season. But it was nice to have a series that didn't feel like it was dragged out with fillers like so many Netflix series' are. Though it's sad to say goodbye to well known characters I felt the writers/cast/crew did them justice in the end.

UmbrellaAcad S4 dropped the ball so far, not even the consolidation of all the timelines could bring this horrendous, messy edited, monstrosity of a show out of the swamp pit. Disappointing. They GOT it in the end there. Oh, wtf was that relationship b-line 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

I’m not really sure what happened here, and I don’t think the writers do either. It just kinda felt like they slapped this together from a mood-board made from several peoples ideas. However, Eliot Page DELIVERED this season, really enjoyed his performance this season.
