Audience Member I’ve never been a fan of teen sex comedies, so I guess that translates to me also not being a fan of adults-acting-like-teens sex comedies. Friends & Lovers is a movie about a group of friends who go to a house in the mountains for a ski trip, and then they all decide to pair off and fall in love because this is something that never crossed their minds until now. It is terribly awkward in the pathetic attempts at humor that never work. Stephen Baldwin is presented as the horniest guy of the group, also known as the comic relief, and he is one of the most unpleasant actors I have ever seen. I think we’re meant to laugh at him, but I just want to punch him in the face. Robert Downey Jr. is also there to create some laughs, but he is playing this character so big it feels like he came from another movie. What barely saves Friends & Lovers from being one of the most unpleasant movies I’ve ever watched are a couple of the relationships that have some real emotional power. I was touched by the connections I felt between certain characters, and also the damaged relationship between father and son that needs to be repaired. None of it was handled great, and there was a lot of nonsense mixed in with the authentic emotion, but I still felt something there keeping me from giving up on the film. Friends & Lovers was still a terribly unsatisfying film, and one that I would advise most people to steer clear from ever watching. But it had just enough to make watching it tolerable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This really felt like an early 90's movie..It felt like the plot was supposed to be serious covered by comedy but not much in the way of LOL moments.. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Shows one boob of that one woman from "When I met your mother"...That's all.. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member saw this on netflix instant. biggest waste of time ever Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member For the most part it's a completely worthless movie, but it does contain the complete and utter brilliance of RDJ as Hans. His character is amazing and one of the most hilarious and outrageous bit performances of all time. His nutball German accent and frosted hair is unforgettable. It's a shame the movie couldn't have revolved around him, that would have been something to see. Sadly, this movie is haunted by Stephen Baldwin and an ensemble cast that is anything but good.
