Rick Groen Globe and Mail A lightweight flick about a heavy-duty subject, A Dark Truth plays like a TV movie back in the days when TV wasn't worth watching. Rated: 1.5/4 Jan 11, 2013 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times For all the attempted intrigue and mayhem, the film is dullsville, mired by a poky script, unremarkable action and, the hard-working Garcia aside, uninspired performances. Rated: 2/5 Jan 10, 2013 Full Review Linda Barnard Toronto Star A slog of a thriller that tries for relevance with an environmental message, A Dark Truth's biggest mystery is how so many "name" actors ended up in this torpid turkey. Rated: 1.5/4 Jan 10, 2013 Full Review Maitland McDonagh Film Journal International The problem is less that it fails to deliver slick, larger-than-life mayhem on a blockbuster scale than that message movies generally play best to the converted. Jan 10, 2013 Full Review Betty Jo Tucker ReelTalk Movie Reviews This eco-thriller's message is an important one, but there are too many slow-moving scenes and too much screen time with characters just staring at each other. Jan 4, 2013 Full Review S. Jhoanna Robledo Common Sense Media Generic thriller has plenty of dead bodies, few surprises. Rated: 2/5 Jan 4, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review kevin w Imagine talking to Martin Sheen for an hour. Oy vey. Well, that's how this liberal-intentions-and-heart-on-its-sleeve action pic plays out as a super big corporation ruthlessly slaughters a village to secure the water rights. Whitaker and Longoria play a Greenpeace activists on the scene who know the truth the coporation is trying to hide, Garcia is a reporter trying to find out what the truth is, and it takes so long to get to the action that you won't care how right (or how Left) anyone is. Wait for a rainy day. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
