Firstly, the plot doesn't make any sense knowing where Kengan Ashura finished, which is in the middle of a tournament. Nothing about this was explained. Secondly, the movie had neither an interesting plot, nor great animation. The whole movie just felt so rushed, glued out of the all the cool scenes shown in the two series. The fighting scenes were especially poor when it comes to art work and complexity, every scene just felt very lazy. This film failed to build any excitement and anticipation before each fight. It seems that the goal for this movie was just to briefly show as many characters as possible. Why? I have no idea. In conclusion, to me this movie was a poor lazy attempt to milk money out of the two successful and interesting anime shows. Nothing made sense in this movie, there was no story line, and even the fighting scenes were not good. Save your time and rather rewatch both Baki and Ashura series. Rated 2/5 Stars •  Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/17/24 Full Review Zack R I'm a big fan of the baki shows and world, while ive never seen Kengan Ashura I would diffentley watch the show after seeing the characters in this movie. While I did enjoy the movie its self on its own it does feel like you are missing alot if you havent seen either of the animes this movie is based from, and that comes more from the baki side of the story and the characters from its shows. The fights are jam packed with high adrenaline and bloody action along with the over the top fighting styles and explinations that come with them. But the movie still lacks what the baki stories seem to miss as well, a strong narrative to help push the story forward and not to fast paced. Over all this is a good fight movie so if thats what you want then thats what you will get. but dont expect to have a strong and compelling story.
