Anderson O Batman Year one is amoung the masterclasses in expectional origins of Batman and observatory in his earlier days of learn to be a crime fighter to change the criminal underworld in clean up Gotham City. A smooth clean animation style of noir as well. The voice cast is excellent across the board, with Bryan Cranston superb as Jim Gordon, delivering the right mix of grit and pathos for the hardened cop. Behind the camera, the filmmakers do a solid job sticking to the classic story but a bit too much. As a result, the film is barely over an hour and plays more like an animated comic over being a true adaptation. What's worse, they cut the best line from Batman during the SWAT raid. Overall, a solid watch but not one of DC Animation's best. The voice acting is solid, with Bryan Cranston bringing depth and nuance to the role of Jim Gordon, and Ben McKenzie providing a suitably brooding performance as Batman/Bruce Wayne. However, the film's fidelity to the source material can also be a drawback at times, as it can feel overly compressed and rushed in certain scenes, and some of the dialogue and voiceover narration can be heavy-handed and melodramatic. Also, while the animation is generally solid, there are a few moments of awkward movement or stiff facial expressions that detract from the immersion. "Batman: Year One" is a worthwhile watch for fans of the Batman mythos, and a commendable attempt to adapt one of the most influential Batman stories ever told. While it may not be perfect, it's still a compelling and engaging take on the Dark Knight's early days in Gotham City. It wasn't my favourite one I have seen but it was still good in its own way. For me, this one seemed more about Gordon rather than Batman. The animation looked great, one of the better animations I have seen in that sense. There was only a few fight scenes (which were good) but I just wanted more. I wanted to see the Batmobile and stuff like that. Also Catwoman was kinda just there, what was she doing? I'll admit I haven't read any Batman comics for years and have only just started watching a few of the animated films, maybe that's why I didn't like this one so much. Overall it was still good but just not as good as other ones I have seen.
