What to Know

Critics Consensus

With help from a strong performance by Leonardo DiCaprio as real-life wunderkind con artist Frank Abagnale, Steven Spielberg crafts a film that's stylish, breezily entertaining, and surprisingly sweet.

Namrata Joshi Outlook A hugely watchable film that disappoints nonetheless. Rated: 2/4 Jan 3, 2019 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Excellent account of FBI's youngest Most Wanted. Rated: 5/5 Dec 22, 2010 Full Review Geoff Andrew Time Out This is the director's most likeable film in ages, even if it's insubstantial, overlong and, frankly, a touch redundant. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand Spielberg beautifully creates the culture of the 1950s nuclear family shattered and the American Dream soured. Nov 3, 2022 Full Review Jim Rohner Battleship Pretension Catch Me If You Can is probably one of the best films amongst Spielberg's minor titles, saying more positively about the man's talent than it says anything negatively about the film. Rory M This one my favourite films of all time, I love how invested I became in Leonardo DiCaprios little schemes a cons Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/08/24 Full Review jinggg l This movie is interesting!! I admire Frank Abagnale Jr very much. He was a teenager but what he did is not a teenager did. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/24 Full Review Ewan D I could watch this movie on repeat honestly. the movie is cat and mouse, its great...you're routing for Dicaprio throughout. The soundtrack captures emotions heavily in this movie, particularly when Dicaprio figures something clever out and he's on his way, it gives me goosebumps. Of course the cast has some of the best actors in holly-wood so it was destined to be good but this movie hits different. This movie is so good it makes you feel like the main character, its inspirational...there are so many small details to do with Abagnale such as the overloaded wallet with all the cards that influence the character traits. Tom hanks in this movie is super likeable too may I add, these two made a great duo. P.S - The movie is based off of a true story, which I researched and the real guy is nowhere near as cool or as good-looking as Dicaprio may I add but also the story isn't as extravagant of course, with Abagnale kinda being a piece of sh*t. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review Ryland C Good ass movie with so many great laughs! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/11/24 Full Review Michael S Such squandered potential. Fire the audio engineer. Burn down the sound department. Sue the director. Easy bug on your privacy.
