Daredevil

What to Know

Critics Consensus

While Ben Affleck fits the role and the story is sporadically interesting, Daredevil is ultimately a dull, brooding origin story that fails to bring anything new to the genre.

Namrata Joshi Outlook Daredevil has a brooding dark and dank air about it, much like Batman. That's about the only element that lends the movie any character. Rated: 1/4 Jan 4, 2019 Full Review Alexander Walker London Evening Standard From start to finish, the film is death-ridden and employs overamplified sound to pump up its many pornographic images. Dec 14, 2017 Full Review Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal It isn't a great film, or even a greatly original one. Still, it has many grace notes, and interesting oddities. Jul 14, 2015 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand ... a strange, sometimes maddening movie. It’s shot with a hyperactive camera that jitters like the Flash on a dozen cups of espresso and written as if the actors were speaking the archly pulp dialogue balloons of a real comic book ... Aug 9, 2024 Full Review Justin Brown Medium Popcorn This was brutal to get through...I was in an utter state of confusion during the entire film. Rated: 1/5 Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Brandon Collins Medium Popcorn Tonally it is all over the place and barely makes any logical sense; even with the ordinary stuff. The performances were coo coo bananas. Rated: 1/5 Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Tatiana G Eu adoro esse filme, minha infância porr@ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/08/24 Full Review Rocco C One of, if not the most underated comic book movie of all time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/01/24 Full Review Dean C The movie was so poorly executed and some scenes were so bad they were laughable. Lucky the Netflix version of Daredevil did the character justice. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/30/24 Full Review Liam W Daredevil is literally if Ted from How I Met Your Mother became Batman. All jokes aside this movie felt convoluted and it felt like it just went no where. The action and the visuals just weren’t doing it for me. I also didn’t like the writing. I never got a chance to connect with any of our characters. That’s probably because the structure was all over the place! In fact it had no structure! All of that just made the film boring for me. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Akash A Daredevil was quite an exciting, engaging, and entertaining movie! It had unique shots & angles of the protagonist, somewhere like a 90s superhero movie, also with neo noir colors at times. The superhero being blind was quite a unique twist, which added much needed variety to the superhero genre - something fresh and different. The CGI was obvious at times, but it was on the money for 2003. I thought the way they showed his vision, in the blue lighting, was very unique and effective. Affleck and Garner also had solid chemistry, I could feel their intimate moments to be touching, and I appreciated the multiple emotions the movie hit on. In fact, the ending was quite eventful, and I found it to pack more than I imagined! Major props need to be given to Colin Farrell for his acting as the antagonist as well. Extremely well played. This has to go for one of the best roles as villains in movies -- it was Heath Ledger Joker esque, just the oddities and expressions, so well done. Really pleased with the movie and it seems this continues my trend of liking movies that aren't rated so well *smiles* Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/02/24 Full Review Audience Member Just found out people hate this movie Literally one of my favorite marvel movies, it's really cool. Bit boring but I still loved it Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/30/24 Full Review Read all reviews
