This coming-of-age film follows the mayhem of group of rowdy teenagers in Austin, Texas, celebrating the last day of high school in 1976. The graduating class heads for a popular pool hall and joins an impromptu keg party, however star football player Randall "Pink" Floyd (Jason London) has promised to focus on the championship game and abstain from partying. Meanwhile, the incoming freshmen try to avoid being hazed by the seniors, most notably the sadistic bully Fred O'Bannion (Ben Affleck).

teenagers being teenagers, but showing the individuality of each person throughout the entire movie. the actors were practically made for their roles, and they did not miss on the 70s outfits. one of the best movies ive seen, consider this your sign to watch it.

This (and Fast Times...) is easily my favorite High School comedy. As someone that 'lived' the era (a tad younger than Wylie Wiggen's character), this reads a ton like original life. More catchphrases and now-well-known actors per square inch than half a dozen other films.

An absolutely fantastic film with characters you learn to like during the course of the film. Even though I didn't grow up during the period it is set in, I could still see myself in the characters and empathize with their problems and their successes. I strongly recommend that you see this film and it is also a good film to watch with the family but maybe with slightly older children as some of the actions of the film are not suitable for all ages.
