Critics Consensus

Diablo has neither the intelligence nor the originality to compete with the revisionist latter-day Westerns it owes obvious debts to.

Andrew Barker Variety "Diablo" boasts the skeleton of an interesting allegorical oater ... but Carlos de los Rios' screenplay never manages to provide flesh or a beating heart, leaving the whole endeavor feeling more like a rough draft. Jan 8, 2016 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times A relatively ordinary oater ... Jan 8, 2016 Full Review Odie Henderson RogerEbert.com An early candidate for the 2016 worst movies list. Rated: 1/4 Jan 8, 2016 Full Review Dominic Griffin Spectrum Culture Like any western, the film also has a spurious relationship with race, trying to prop its tale up on the dramatic implications of antebellum America, without having to actually explore the relationships between the war's disparate survivors. Rated: 1/5 Jul 17, 2019 Full Review Robert Kojder Flickering Myth At roughly 80 minutes, Diablo is at least merciful with its boredom, but it's going to be tough to find worse films in 2016 Rated: 1/5 Dec 4, 2017 Full Review Alberto Abuín Espinof A western thriller with lots of plot holes and an obvious intention of fooling the viewer with "twists" you can see from a mile away. Michel H A guy with 2 guns walks to the middle of a farm yard and shoots mexicans with riffles hidden behind doors. He then squats quietly to finish cut a mexican's throat the enters the house to kill a few other armed mexicans hiding behind doors. A real great moment of cinema. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/16/24 Full Review Audience Member One of the few films I couldn’t watch to the end. Nothing made sense. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/03/22 Full Review Austin S I just enjoyed the movie! Scott Eastwood needs to get more western movie opportunities in my opinion bring back the genre! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/23/22 Full Review Carlo D Aimless and stupid. One of the laziest plots I've ever seen. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/02/22 Full Review Mario C Terrible movie. Script writer must have been on drugs when he wrote it. No plot, just a waste of time watching Eastwood. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/15/22 Full Review Jd M I liked it. The Actors made it work and the scenery was great. I saw the father in the son a few times and that made me smile. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/14/22 Full Review Read all reviews
