The fight for trans and intersex rights overlap as they both challenge the simplistic notion of using a binary to categorize individuals. This is an extraordinary look to what has been a 'secret' for many years. This documentary brings to light the lives of three-four major recipients of doctor advised, confused parents permissions, to have children born with dual gender parts an dhow they were forced into becoming something they were not. Once a taboo topic, this enlightens the audience to what they went through and how they changed laws to transform their rights as individuals and stop the mutilation of their organs to achieve 'proper society' genders. No longer can a parent have their child undergo this surgery and now the individual will make that choice when they grow up - after puberty and how they identify. Excellent film - no forceful shocking things - just plain and simple the realizations that we are all humans and individuals - and some, cannot control how they were born - acceptance is what we need in our society.
